We’re excited to welcome Sam Whitford to the Butler-Perozzi Fountain Steering Committee!

Born in Seattle and raised in Olympia, Sam has been a long-time resident of Ashland, arriving in 1964 to attend S.O. College (now SOU). After completing his degree and two years in the military, he returned to the town he loved and began teaching art at Talent Junior High. He retired in 1998. Sam has also been a  real estate broker for 38 years and has served on many boards and commissions including 22 years on the Ashland Historic Commission.

“When I graduated from college in 1968 the ceremony was at the band shell in Lithia Park and following I had my picture taken in front of the fountain;  I’m happy to help raise money to restore it now!” – Sam Whitford
