Concrete and Conduits Underway in Summer Construction Update

The Butler Perozzi Fountain Replacement Project launched in May 2026. The historic marble fountain was dismantled and moved to Jack Langford Studios in Phoenix, Oregon, for restoration. Onsite at the fountain location in Lithia Park, the removal of the original stairs and terrace occured. Crews then excavated the site down to native soil to prepare for new construction.

Work progressed quickly in July with the pouring of new footings and the installation of wall forms. Crews are currently constructing the terrace and stair walls, which are scheduled for completion by late August or early September. Electrical conduits and plumbing lines are being integrated directly into the structure at each phase, paving the way for construction of the fountain pool once the terrace floor is laid.

In October, following the primary concrete work, crews will install precast concrete light standards and wall caps. Meanwhile, the fountain’s Vermont Imperial Danby marble has been block-cut in Vermont and is undergoing milling to drill the central water line. Once shipped to Phoenix, Oregon, sculpting will begin. While the concrete, plumbing, and electrical work will wrap up this winter, the finished marble fountain will be installed this winter/spring.
